Sandra Mae Brown (nee Glasshagel), was born in Elgin, IL, on August 16, 1940, to George and Harriet Glasshagel. Sandra entered into her Savior's arms on February 9, 2022, at the age of 81. Sandra married Charles Brown on June 4, 1960, and this union of 61 years was blessed with two children, Lisa and Craig; and four grandchildren. Sandra was a devoted wife and mother whose constant love and encouragement fostered the best of those around her. Sandra had a love of music that began at a young age and continued throughout her life as a vocal soloist and member of numerous choral groups. Sandra's vocational life included work as a switchboard operator, an administrative assistant, and a purchasing agent. Sandra was a devoted Christian servant, participating in ladies' groups, altar guild, and as a lay lector and choir member. Sandra also volunteered for many years at Delnor Hospital, Geneva, Illinois. Sandra is survived by her husband, Charles (Chuck); daughter, Lisa Swanson of Oswego, Illinois, and son, Craig (Lynne) Brown of Palatine, Illinois; grandchildren, Michael Swanson, Anna Swanson, Ryan Brown, Drew Brown; and dear friend Judy Kautz. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, George and Harriet Glasshagel. A funeral service celebrating the life of Sandra will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 101 S. 6th Ave., St. Charles, Illinois, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 12 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Montgomery, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 101 S. Sixth Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174-2107 and Lutheran Church Charities, Attn: K-9 Comfort Dogs, 3020 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook IL 60062. Arrangements by Norris-Segert Funeral Home.
