He is now with his wife Perpetua Avila. He was born on the island of Flores, Açores, Portugal and served in the Army and was a Policeman in the Azores. When he moved to the United States he worked on a dairy farm as a Milker for over 30 years. He is survived by his sister Leontina Armas in Boston. His 2 sons, Joe Avila (Sylvia) in Merced and Fernando Avila in Modesto. His Grandchildren, Tracie Azevedo, Natasha Avila, Tony Avila and Daniel Avila. Great Grandchildren, Paige Avila, Cameron Avila and Payton Avila.
Visitation and Rosary will be held on February 16, 2022 at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home Chapel located at 1050 McHenry Avenue, Modesto, CA - from 4pm-7pm with Rosary at 5pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on February 17, 2022 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church located at 709 J Street, Modesto CA – at 10am
