Dr. Jerry Lee Vestal, 68, had his homegoing on Thursday, December 27, 2007. He was born on January 4, 1939, in Jackson, Tennessee, to Marion Henry and Lula Irene Johnson Vestal. He graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary and went on to earn a Doctorate of Ministry. Brother Jerry was the Pastor of The Church of Acts for 30 years, a non-denominational church. His heart and life was winning the lost to Jesus Christ, ministering healing to the brokenhearted, praying for the sick, reaching out and loving those who have lost direction in life, setting the captives free, and giving hope to the hopeless. He was a man of great compassion.

Jerry is survived by his wife: Betty Vestal; son: Joey L. (Mime) Vestal, of Round Rock, Texas; daughters: Sharon (Scott) Thornton, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and Kimberly (David) Flores, of Burleson, Texas; sisters: Katherine (David) Harris, of Luray, Tennessee, and Doris (Terry) Lovell, of Jackson, Tennessee; brother: Rodger Vestal (Ruth) of Chandler, Arizona; and nine grandchildren: Tanna Horton, Audra and Austin Thornton; Kidron, Sunny, Stetson and Kylee Vestal; Avery, Noelle and Samuel Flores.

Visitation was held Dec. 29 & 30 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Services were held at The Church of Acts on Dec. 31. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Brett Fansler, Armando Garza, C.B. Jones, Rick Cruz, Marcus Haas, Norman Foster, Chris Pena and Bobby Landrum.
