Manwangopath or "Sweet Breeze" Wells (born Turtle) was born in 1773 in Indiana; she was the eldest daughter of Chief Michikinikwa, known as Little Turtle.

In 1791 she married in Indiana at age 18 to William F "Apekonita" Wells (he was born in 1770 in Pennsylvania & she was his 2nd wife). Manwangopath died in 1805 in Indiana at age 32. When she died her children Rebekah, Ann, William & Mary went to live with their uncle Samuel Wells in Bardstown, Kentucky. They studied at a Roman Catholic boarding school run by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.

Manwangopath & William had 7 children: Ahpezzahquah "Ann" Turner (born Wells), Rebecca "Pemesahquah" Hackley (born Wells), William Wayne Wells, and 4 other children.
