She was married to Robert Lee Bos on April 12, 1965, in Columbia, MO. During the early part of their marriage the couple traveled around for her husband's work. Later in life they settled down in Rock Rapids, IA. She always worked in Cafes and the food service industry, most recently at Sportsman's Lounge in Rock Rapids for her granddaughter.
She enjoyed watching TV, reading the Reporter and being with her family. She also enjoyed playing the lotto scratch tickets and gambling. She always spoke about how proud she was of her family.
In March of 2005, her husband of 39 years, Robert Bos died. In September 2005 she had a mild stroke that affected her right side and agreed to move in with her granddaughter Stephanie and family. In April of 2021 she had a few health issues and had surgery which led to an amputation of her toe due to blood circulation issues. She then went to the Health Center in Rock Rapids for therapy to get stronger and come back home. Unfortunately, her fears and anxiety overtook her progress. On December 23rd she became ill and was transported to Sanford in Sioux Falls for pneumonia and a collapsed lung. On December 29th she was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma lung cancer and was given a short amount of time. She was placed in Hospice care and brought to Hospice Cottage in Luverne, Mn on January 3, 2022, for comfort care where her family was able to spend every day with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eildert and Martha Bonk; husband, Robert Bos; four siblings, Fred Bonk, Don Bonk, Ila Mae Breeman, Marian Roling and step-son, Roger Bos.
