Joyce (Honeyman) Shanley was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on Thursday, December 15, 1927, to Arsel and Ethel (Casper) Honeyman. She passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven on Friday, February 4, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 94.
Joyce and a twin sister, Janice, were the only two children born to the Honeymans'. Janice passed away as a child leaving Joyce an only child. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from high school there in 1945. After marriage she became mother to one son and three daughters. She eventually moved her family to Broken Arrow where she worked as a salesperson for Star Jewelers in downtown Broken Arrow for many years.
She joined the First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow where she has been a faithful member for over 45 years, singing in the church choir and was active in many of the activities there. Joyce lived a long an productive life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a Graveside Service at 1:30 PM at Blackwell Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her parents and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arsel and Ethel Honeyman and her twin sister, Janice Honeyman.
