ROCKFORD - Henry A. Atterberry, 74, of Rockford died at 12:32 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, in his home after a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 4, 1929, in Springfield. Son of Roy and Marie Collins Atterberry. Married Judith Ames on July 7, 1951, in Petersburg, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was employed by Be-Mac as a diesel mechanic for several years owner-operator of his own semi for 12 years, retiring in 1991 as a Teamster member. Survivors include his wife, Judy daughters, Cathy (Marty) Dean of Arkansas, Connie Johnson and Bonnie Fisher, both of Rockford, and Jill (Roger) Wilson of Maryland son, Mark (Cynthia) Atterberry of Nevada mother, Marie Atterberry of Rockford eight grandchildren, Michael, Terry, Miranda, Shane, Wally, Nikki, Olivia and Cassondra sister, Mary Bochm of Petersburg many nieces and nephews and special friends, Ronald Johnson, Richard Bunting, Angie and Little J. Robyn and children, Jen and Little Britches, Brian and Bob and Jaunita Austin. Predeceased by his father and two brothers.

Memorial services at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Fred C. Olson Funeral Chapels Ltd., East Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with the Rev. Dr. William Richard Kerr Sr., to officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice for the care given to Henry during his illness.
