Tola B. Davenport, 91, of 17 Dogwood Terrace, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Reid Hospital after a short illness. She was born March 23, 1911, in Rockcastle County, Ky., to John and Sarah Elizabeth Jones Smith and lived here since 1936. She worked as a seamstress for Kentucky Casket Co., Vandor Casket Co. and Hutton Casket Co. and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Dana Kay Brewer of Richmond; three grandchildren, Darin, Ray and Paul Brewer; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Lottie Marten of Richmond; nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Harry Davenport, died in 1999. Seven brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Funeral services will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. July 11, 2002, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, 222 N. 10th St., Richmond, with Rev Carlos Wardwell officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
