Larry Pat "Poppy" Aikman age 83 of Bluffton passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Arkansas River Valley Hospice Home.

Poppy was born December 11, 1938 in Bluffton, Arkansas to the late William & Anna Bogle Aikman. He was a Army Veteran, served two tours in Vietnam, and was an Airborne Ranger. He was a member of the Bluffton Methodist Church, was past president of the Fourche Valley School Board, member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge #123 and was very active in the community. He also took his tree farming very seriously.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jim Bill Aikman.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jo Fowler Aikman; children, Larry Pat Aikman Jr. (Grace) of Gravelly; Cynthia Aikman and Cecelia Aikman both of Bluffton; sister, Virginia McCartney of Bluffton; brother, Loy Max Aikman (Nadyne) of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Michelle, Robin, Cynthia, Katherine, Codi, Auston, Robert and Paul; 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service with Military and Masonic Rights will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Briggs Cemetery with Rev. Lacy Minnie officiating.
