b. Feb. 25, 1763 (or 1761) Andover, Mass. d. Nov. 14, 1841 Ellery, NY. s/o Ezra and Sarah (Long) Annis. Soldier of the Revolution
Jacob Annis enlisted in the spring of 1780 in Capt. Ebenezer Fry's Company of the 1st Massachusetts Regiment, Continental Line, commanded by Col. Joseph Vose, and served until the spring or summer of 1783. He saw battle action at White Plains, King's Bridge, and at Yorktown. His regiment was part of General Lafayette's Light Infantry Division. His pension application was dated April 30, 1818, Canandaigua, Ontario County, N.Y. He was granted a soldier's pension -- #17235. He is named in the 1840 Pension List as being 77 years of age. After Jacob Annis death, his widow Deborah applied for pension, May 30, 1853, when she was 67 years old. In 1854 she was residing with her youngest son, George, at Eaton Rapids, Mich.
md. 1st Abigail Fowler of Thetford, Vt. 1771-1805. d. 1805, shortly after the birth of their fifth child, Polly. Jacob md. 2nd - Nov. 18, 1806 - Deborah (St. John) Underhill. Deborah widow of William Underhill. b. Mar. 18, 1786.
