HULL
Elizabeth Hull married Captain Samuel Gaylord. Elizabeth's parents were George Hull and Tomasine Mitchell Hull.
George Hull
George Hull migrated to New England during the Puritan Great Migration (1620-1640).
— Great Migration Begins, by R. C. Anderson, Vol. 1, p. 1040
George Hull was born about 1590 in Crewkerne, Somerset, England, son of Thomas and Joan Pyssing Hull.
George Hull first married Thomasine Mitchell on August 27, 1614 in Crewkerne. She died before 1654.
George Hull emigrated to Dorchester, Massachusetts in 1632. He was made Freeman of Massachusetts on March 4, 1632. He was a Representative to the General Court, May, 1634, and one of the first Selectmen of Dorchester. He removed to Windsor, Connecticut in 1636, where he surveyed that place, and also Weathersfield. George Hull held various offices from 1637 to 1654.
George Hull's daughter Elizabeth, born 1625 in Crewkerne, was married in 1646 at Windsor, Connecticut, to Samuel Gaylord. Samuel was baptized 1619 in Crewkerne. Samuel was the son of William Gaylord, and they are proven passengers on the "Mary & John" in 1630. Two of George Hull's brothers, Reverend Joseph Hull and Reverend William Hull, were Puritan parsons. This means George Hull was likely familiar with the Reverend John White, who was actively recruiting passengers for the ship "Mary & John".
