John Sheldon Hacker II was born on April 23, 1944, to parents John and Margaret Hacker.

He entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2022.

John attended Robert E. Lee Highschool in Tyler, Texas, he then played football at Austin College in Sherman and received his Bachelors Degree . He then pursued and attained his Master's Degree from North Texas State University. John was always a hard working and driven man, always involved in serving his community in any way he could. He was a member of Jewel P Lightfoot Masonic Lodge 1283, Texas Highschool Coaches Association, Rotary Club in Cedar Creek Lake area, a Deacon at Woodhaven Baptist Church and the music director at Legendary Baptist Church as well as an active member.

John and his beloved wife, Linda, started their journey through this life together on August 6, 1966 and together built a beautiful life and family. With his wife's enduring support and devotion he was able to continue his love for football becoming a coach at Garland Junior High, then North Garland, Lake Highland High School; where he won a State Championship. John then went on to coach in the North and East Texas areas, coaching for Athens, Corsicana, Liberty and Glen Rose High Schools, finally retiring in 1999. Of course, he couldn't just ease into retirement and stay that way; going on to find new ways to serve his community. John became a funeral director at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home from 1999-2015, helping local families navigate their way through grief and final arrangements their loved ones. In addition to all of that, John loved and cared for his family above all, he was a loving husband, dedicated father and adoring grandfather. His family was his greatest treasure in this life. In his free time John enjoyed building things with wood, golfing and fishing but his favorite pastime was being with family, making precious memories that will now last them a lifetime.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Hacker and his father and mother -in-law, Johnny and Charlene Garmon.

John was a truly special man and will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for John will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Mabank, Texas.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 3:00 PM, Mabank, Texas.

A graveside will occur Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Oaklawn Cemetery, Mabank, Texas.
