CARENCRO - Memorial services will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Linda Broussard, age 74, the former Linda Veronie, who passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Opelousas General Health System.
Ms. Broussard was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Opelousas. Linda was direct, to the point, and honest to a fault, a trait loved by many. She was also always willing to lend a hand. She enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, road trips and traveling.
Survivors include three sons, Shawn Gaspard, Christopher Broussard, and Brandon Broussard and his wife, Shillo; two daughters, Candace Pitre and her husband, Neil, and Jonette Menard and her husband, Toby; twelve beloved grandchildren; eight beloved great grandchildren; two brothers, Phillip Veronie and his wife, Norda, and Steven Veronie; two sisters, Margaret Fontenot and her husband, Robert, and Stephanie Usie and her husband, Ted; and one brother-in-law, Ken Venable.
She was preceded in death by her life companion, Enrique Henry Martinez; her parents, Alcin Veronie and Helen Guillet; one sister, Kathryn Venable; and her handsome grandson, Malik Broussard.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Monday until service time on Monday.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joshua Boutin, Sidney Menard, Bryson Menard, Nicolas Broussard, Christian Broussard and Brandon "Lil B" Broussard.
