Holly A. Shanks, age 57, of Franklin, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, IL. She was born on September 5, 1964 in Pittsfield, IL to James and Mary Ann Turnbaugh Shanks.
Holly graduated from Pittsfield High School and went on to work various jobs. She worked at Excel in Beardstown as well as Stark Brothers, Wee Ones Bows, and All Parts, all in Louisiana, MO. She also worked for Community Care and worked as a waitress at Rhodes Café in Milton. Holly enjoyed spending time with her family and crafting. She loved yard sales and going shopping, and was always glad to find a good sale. Holly dearly adored all animals and she was a very fun, caring, and loving woman. She will be missed.
She is survived by her brother, Brad (Emily) Rhodes of Pittsfield, IL; her companion, Jay Toler of Franklin, IL; stepfather, Robert Rhodes of Pearl, IL; stepbrothers, Craig Rhodes of Riverton, IL and Chris Rhodes of Springfield, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Addie, Emma, Ariel, Melody, and Sandra Rhodes; and aunt, Valerie Watkins of Pittsfield, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Shanks and Mary Ann Rhodes; maternal grandparents, Logan and Francis Turnbaugh; and her paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Interment will follow at Greenpond Cemetery near Pearl. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to be made to P.A.W.S. in Jacksonville, IL.
