"E. Annette Wells, 57, of Parkville, MO, passed away Friday, February 19, 2000, at her home with her family after a year-long struggle with cancer. An evening memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, at Fairview Christian Church, Gladstone. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, contributions to William Jewell College -- Alpha Delta Pi Building Fund.

Annette was born on March 15, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Roger and Alberta Admire. She was raised in Liberty, MO, and graduated from Liberty High School. Annette was active in many charitable organizations. As a young woman, she was active in the Masonic Order of Rainbow Girls and finished her work as the Missouri State President-Grand Worthy Advisor.

She graduated from William Jewell College in 1965. She was president of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority 1963-64 and was a member and officer of the Kansas City Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association and served as Chapter Advisor for the Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She saw her daughter, Kyla, inducted in Alpha Delta Pi at Samford University in 1991. She was a lifelong active member of the William Jewell Alumnae Association and was President of the Alumnae Board of Governors from 1985-87. William Jewell College honored her by naming her 'Miss Alumnae' in 1978.

Annette taught 4th grade at Meadowbrook Elementary in the North Kansas City School District and substituted in both the Park Hill and North Kansas City School Districts. Annette desired to teach families about financial security. She then went to work for Waddell & Reed as a financial advisor. She earned her certificate from the Institute of Certified Financial Planners as a Certified Financial Planner and operated her business as Annette Wells Financial Services in North Kansas City, MO, with Businessman's Assurance (BMA) as her dealer/broker.

During her life, she was a member of the Liberty Christian Church, Englewood Baptist Church and Northwoods Christian Church. Annette is survived by her loving husband, David; her two daughters, Gretchen Wells and Kyla Putman; her son-in-law, Jonathan Putman; her mother, Alberta Admire; her brother, Tom Admire; her two-year-old granddaughter, Lauryn Putman; and many loving friends."
