Mrs. Catherine "Lorraine" Hurst Monroe, 65, of the Aline community, more affectionately known as "Ms. Daisy" passed away on December 16, 2021, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta Georgia.

Ms. Lorraine was born on February 12, 1956, to William Sylvester Hurst, Sr. and Catherine Lois Rich Hurst in Amarillo Texas. Lorraine was retired from American Door and Drawer as an inspector. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. She had been developing a love for crafting the last few months. This past summer, Lorraine found her salvation when she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Keith Monroe, a brother William (Billy) Sylvester Hurst, Jr. and a sister, Mary Rich.

Lorraine is survived by a son, Kenny (Jennifer) Hall of Aline; two daughters, Melissa (Kevin) MeGehee, of Pace, FL and Catina (Cameron) Beasley of Stillmore; a sister, Audry (Bob) Wyatt of Vidalia; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. The funeral will be conducted on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11 am in the Chapel of Wood Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy McDuffie officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Aline Ga. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Clifton, Timmy Monroe, Joe Morin, Steven Cody, Alex Roberson, and Billy Williams.
