Mary Elizabeth Henley Underwood, age 90, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was born in Douglasville, Georgia, on May 12, 1931, daughter of the late Albert Little Henley, Sr and the late Elizabeth Ethel McClesky. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mary was a retired nurse from Douglas County Health Department.
She is survived by her Children: Brenda Conner (Hugh), Susan Bowers (Stephen), Emmett Underwood, Jr (Patty); grandchildren: Amy Pollard (Robert), Corbin Bowers (Avory), Georgia Crowe (Tyler), Austin Bowers (Lynsie); great-grandchildren: Riley, James, Canaan; brothers: Albert Henley, Jr, Mack Henley (Marlene); Nephew: Eddie Henley; Niece: Mary Beth Henley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Iverson Underwood, Sr.
The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January, 27, 2022 from 12:00 PM till 2:00PM.
The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 PM. with Pastor James Cook officiating. Corbin Bowers, Austin Bowers, Stephen Bowers, Eddie Henley, Hugh Conner, Coletan Henley will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
