G. Z. Wilson, 89, Well known Visalian, Died Here Dec.25

George Zacheus Wilson, 89, a native of Texas, died in this city at 4:30 yesterday afternoon. He had been a resident of this city since 1906. Mr. Wilson was for many years prominent in his native state, and was one of the volunteer guards under Colonels Guisett and Stewart during the was between Texas and Mexico.
His wife, Mrs. Emily Clement Shipp Wilson, whom he married in 1861 in Texas, died in 1922.
Survivors include eight children, E. G. Wilson, Miss Dollie Wilson, George S. Wilson, and Mrs. John W. Brown, all of Visalia; Mrs. Kittie Jones, Oakville, Texas, Mrs. Nannie Toomey, Salinas, Z. C. Wilson, Rock Springs, Texas, and Mrs. Jack Pettigrew, Forney, Texas.
He was a member of the Masonic order.
Funeral services will be conducted from the A. E. Brooks chapel at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon with Rev. D. H. Householder, pastor of the Methodist church, South in charge.
Interment will be made in the family plot in the city cemetery.
