George B. Ainsworth
Last Thursday, May 13th, 1920. George Ainsworth, one of the oldest and best known residents of the town of Hamlin, passed peacefully away after an illness of seven months
Mr Ainsworth was the son of Luther and Sally Cropsey Ainsworth, and was born May 25th, 1828, at Poestenkilly, N. Y.
In 1836 he came to Unionville, now Hilton, his parents residing on the corner formerly occupied by the Piggott hotel. At that time the nearest store was at Parma Center Eight years later they moved to Hamlin and located on what is known as the Nelson Tenny farm.
On January 12th, 1851, he was married to Imogene Clark of Hamlin, who died October 19th, 1912
The numerous floral offerings and the many relatives and friends at the funeral services held Sunday afternoon indicated the esteem in which the deceased was held. Services were conducted at the home of his daughter, Mrs W. H. Gates, Rev. G. Haines of Wilson officiating, assisted by Rev. Holder of Walker, Interment was at Blossom Cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his loss, one son, M. G. Ainsworth of Hilton; one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Gates of Walker; two sisters, Mrs. Tyler Hull and Mrs. Lovinda Ellis of Detroit, Mich.; one grandaughter, Mrs. H. L. Fleming of Hilton, and two great grandchildren. His oldest sister, Mrs. Mary Hilton, of Meadville, Mo., died ten days previous to Mr. Ainsworth's death.
