M. Louise Maher, age 85, of Peoria, formerly of Benton, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born to Garmon and Lottie (Holmes) Chastain on September 16, 1936, in Benton, TN. She married Charles "Chuck" W. Maher in Sunnyland on August 30, 1969.

Louise is survived by her husband, Chuck of Peoria; daughters, Sarita Hedges of Creve Coeur and Dee Neese Jones of Peoria; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Wiley of Athens, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Doc Chastain.

Louise worked in the Student Center at Bradley University and was responsible for janitorial work and event set up. She retired in 2002.

Louise was lovingly known as "Weezy" by friends and family members.

Visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.
