YOUTH SHOT BY CHILD, 6, DIES
Authorities Investigating Shooting of Lorin Andrews Student

Marvin Emery McClaskey, 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emery McClaskey of 1159 14th st SW, who was shot in his right side 10 days ago, by a 6-year old boy while en route to Lorin Andrews junior high scool, where he was a seventh grade pupil, died at 10 a.m. today at the Massillon city hospital.

Probation Officer Lorin D. Gadd today stated tht further investigation is being made into the case with the assistance of local police aand the Stark county prosector's office.

McClaskey was shot March 13 while walking in Karn ave SW about 3:50 a.m. having been struck by a bullet fired b Gerald Rush jr, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rush from the doorway of his residence at 1324 Karn ave SW. He was found a few minutes later by Mrs. W.W. Hodge of 1326 Karn ave and taken to the hospital in an ambuance after his father had been notified. He has been in a serious condition since the shooting. The bullet a 22-calibre long, passed through the flesh of the right arm and into the axila.

Born at Cairo, W. Va., he lived in Massillon 3 years. Besides his parents, he is survived by 4 sisters, Marie, Catherine, Marjorie and Shirley, at home; 3 brothers, Delbert and Ronald, at home and Pvt. Albert McClaskey, of the United States army, stationed at Camp Atterbury, Ind. and a grandmother, Mrs. Loretta McClaskey of Cairo.

The body is at the Gordon-Shaidnagle-Hollinger funeral home, pending completion of funeral arrangements.
