Thelma J. Powell, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and friend, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2007 in Vernal, Utah. Her husband Keith of 60 years was by her side. Thelma was born June 1, 1929 to Willis and Alice Jones. She married George (Keith) Powell on July 2, 1947, they were later sealed in the Bountiful Temple on April 15th, 2004. Together they had five children, Judy Powell of Aramo, ID; Gary Powell (deceased), Cindy (Tom) Kerr of Kaysville; Brenda Powell of Midvale; Richard (Donnetta) Powell of Vernal. She loved spending time with her seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Stephanie) Kerr, Michael (Rachel) Kerr, Lindsay Kerr, Rachel Powell, Spencer Powell, Kyle Powell, Ryan Powell and two great-grandchildren, Cole Kerr and Kamryn Kerr. Thelma will be remembered for her love of golf, bowling, traveling and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed but in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by both parents and one son Gary K. Powell. Funeral services will be held Sat. Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. at the Ashley Stake Center, Ashley 1st Ward, 850 W. 100 N., Vernal. A viewing will be held Fri. November 30, 6-8 p.m. at the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Saturday, December 1, one hour prior to services.
