Charles Arthur Petro, 82, of Decatur died 9:46 p.m. Thursday (March 7, 1991) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown.
Mr. Petro was born Dec. 16, 1908, son of George Marshal and Hertha Mae LaBounty Petro. He was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad as a section foreman and prior to that he worked for the Interurban Railroad. He married Cora Mildred Parnell in 1929. She preceded him in death in 1975. He married Marie Meek McCoy in 1981.
Surviving are his wife; children, Mrs. Richard (Lois) of Stonington; Donald J. Petro of Altadena, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Miller of San Jose; Charles E. "Eddie" of Decatur; Mrs. August (Jane) of Decatur; Mrs. Ronald (Charlene) and Gerald A., both of Decatur; stepchildren, Mrs. Barbara of Panama City, Fla.; Mrs. Pearl of Zephyrhills, Fla.; Clyde and David, both of Galesburg; sister, Alice Owens of Decatur; 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 29 stepgrand-children; 38 great-stepgrandchildren; on great-great-stepcrandchild.
His parents, one sister, one grandchild and two stepgrandchildren preceded him in death.
