She was born on April 27, 1947 in Crawfordsville, IN to the late George and Mildred (Patton) Martin. She graduated from Linden High School in 1965. She also graduated from Indiana Tech in Indianapolis the next year.
Brenda married Cecil Dwayne Hollingsworth on October 27, 1979 and he survives. Along with her husband and her son, she is survived by four grandchildren; one sister; one nephew; and one niece.
Growing up on the family farm, Brenda enjoyed 4-H, exhibiting both cattle and pigs. In 1965, she had the grand champion beef steer at the Indiana State Fair, one of the highlights of her life. She went on to work at Arnett Clinic and Indiana Gas Company where she met lifelong friends.
Brenda was a very family-oriented person and was at the height of her glory at family get-togethers. She was very proud of her son and cherished time spent with him and his family. She was also very close with her sister and never went a day without talking to her. Brenda had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a joke.
Brenda and Dwayne spent 42 wonderful years together, some of which were spent in Monticello at their house on Lake Freeman. They were parents to several pets over the years, including both Shultzie and Tucker, her beloved dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Dawn Michelle Stamper.
Our world will never be the same without Brenda.
