"William J. Rupright, 74, of Smith Corners, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lena Pantea, following an illness of several months. Born in Austintown township, April 1, 1889, he was a son of George and Sherri Neff Rupright, and was a life resident of the locality. For many years he was employed by the Altimo Culture Co. in Canfield and until his retirement had been a fireman at the Mahoning County Tuberculosis Sanitorium for sixteen years. His wife, the former Neva (sic Nora) Corll, died in 1957 (sic 1951). Besides Mrs. Pantea, he leaves six other daughters, Mrs. Vera Shepard of Salem; Mrs. Ada Devan of Lisbon; Mrs. Edna Neff of Van Nuys, Calif.; Mrs. Hattie Jones of Burbank, Calif; Mrs. Gladys Kochera of Granada Hills, Calif.; and Mrs. Virginia Conrad of San Fernando, Calif; three sons, Carl in Austintown; Robert in Greenford and Richard in Northridge, Calif.; two half-brothers, Alfred Greier and Cyril Greier, both in Austintown; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Robert Earle, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lane Austintown Chapel, and interment made in the Smith Corners cemetery."
