Helen Ann Benton, 75, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Linda E. White Hospice House. She was born on November 22, 1946, in Evansville, IN.

Helen graduated from Harrison High School in 1965. She enjoyed dinners with her long-time companion, Gene. She also enjoyed lunches and shopping with her sister and daughters. She faithfully attended her grandchildren's many athletic games and was an active member of Salem Church of Darmstadt. Helen also spent many years caring for others.

She was preceded in death by stepmother, Mary Ann Russell; brother, Ronald Russell; sister, Carla Russell; son-in-law, Don Sawyer; and best friend and companion, Gene Kuester.

Helen is survived by sister, Marsha Higginson; brother, Robert Russell; daughters, Kristy Sawyer, Amy Benton and Lisa Benton (Rick); grandchildren, Trevor Smith (Tiana), Tanee Smith and Karsyn Rose Sawyer; great grandchildren, Taliyah and Tyla Smith; nephews, Rick and Jeff Spratt (Rachel) and their children, Lani, Riley and Jesse.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 officiated by Pastor David Peterson, with final resting place in Salem Church of Darmstadt Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Published in Courier Press on Jan. 16, 2022.
