"Native of Mercer County, Father of Rock Island Woman, Passes at 86"
John Franklin Adams, father of Mrs. George Schneider, 815 Twentieth St., Rock Island, and for many years formerly a resident of Aledo, died at his home in Chickasha, Okla., Saturday morning at 9:45 o'clock.
The body will be brought to Rock Island, arriving at 8:45 o'clock this evening, and will be taken on to Aledo, where final services will be held at the Murphy funeral home at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment will take place in Aledo.
Mr. Adams was 86 years old born Sept. 15, 1842, he was a native of Mercer county. He was married to Miss Bessie A. Strong who preceded him in death Feb. 11, 1910.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen N. Adams and Logan E. Adams of Hobart, Ind., and Howard Adams of East Moline: six daughters, Mrs. John H. Norris of Chickasha, Okla., with whom Mr. Adams made his home in recent years, Mrs. Schneider of Rock Island, Ada B. Adams, Bessie E. Adams, Jessie L. Adams, and Lydia B. Adams, all of Aledo, and seven grandchildren. To Rock Island, the body of Mr. Adams will be accompanied by Mrs. Norris, the daughter.

Notes: John F. Adams was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 2 April 1864 at Duncan, Stark, Illinois, by Z. H. Gurley, Sr. He was confirmed by Z. H. Gurley and H. Holmes. He was ordained an elder in September 1862 (21 August 1864). He attended scattered branches in Illinois, including the Buffalo Prairie and Tri-Cities branches, before his death at Chickasha, Oklahoma.
