Ethel P. (Finnegan) Dively, 92, of Blair Chalet, formerly of Claysburg, passed away Friday at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Hospital Campus. She was born in Imler, daughter of the late Humphrey and Hattie (Helsel) Finnegan. She married Brady Dively April 18, 1934, in Cumberland, Md. He died Dec. 25, 1990.

Surviving are a son, Darvin D. Dively and wife, Bonnie, of Claysburg; two grandchildren: Lisa Claar and husband, Douglas, of Claysburg and Lisa Gochnaur of Osterburg; two great-grandchildren: Vincent Gambardella of Claysburg and Alyssa Gochnaur of Osterburg; brother, Orville Finnegan and wife, Betty, of Imler; many loving nieces, nephews and wonderful friends; and her other family, a team of caring, loving people at Blair Chalet, Hollidaysburg, whom she also loved. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery; sister, Atlanda; and brother, Jim.

Mrs. Dively attended Claysburg Church of God. She retired as a cook from J.C. Penney Co. in 1979. She previously worked at Chilcotes Restaurant and Peggy's Diner.

She enjoyed cooking and socializing with friends and family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at the funeral home with the Rev. Hoyt Williams officiating. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Claysburg Church of God.
