John A. Schoenrock, 53, died in a local hospital Wednesday night November 10, 1948, the result of an accidental gunshot wound received early Tuesday morning. He was a prominent farmer and stockman and lived west of Fairbury.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Schoenrock, 104 West Fifth Street, Fairbury his wife, the former Adelina Kriesel; three children, Carl and Alvin at home; Elsie, Mrs. Oliver Maxon, Ong, Nebr. and four grandchildren; by brothers, Julius Schoenrock, who lives west of Fairbury; Ernest Schoenrock, in Fairbury; Gustav Schoenrock, jr., Council Bluffs, Iowa; Edward Schoenrock, west of Fairbury, and Bernard Schoenrock, Grand Island. One brother, Emil Schoenrock died in 1919, soon after returning from the first World War. Another brother died in infancy.
Services will be held at the East Gladstone church Sunday at 2:30 p. m. with the pastor, Rev. J. P. Kaiser, officiating.
