Hershel Ray Brooks, Jr. age 57, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA.

Hershel was born in Norton, VA on January 5, 1965. He is preceded in death by his father Hershel Brooks, Sr.; his daughter Courtney Brooks; aunt Loretta Hall; and cousins Sherry & Shane Markham. Hershel enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother Glenna Renfro Brooks; son Josh Brooks & wife Ashely; brother Scott Brooks & wife Traci; sister Deanna Pope & husband Robert; grandchildren Brayden Sexton, Kolton Sexton, Kylan Brooks, Kaidus Brooks, & Daycian Brooks; aunts Linda Yates & husband Roger, Judy Ison & husband Phillip, and Brenda Walker; uncles Don Brooks & wife Betty, and Dale Brooks & wife Loretta; special great aunt Billy Hamm & family; special nieces Tara Pope & Megan Pope; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family and friends.

The family would like to express a special Thanks to Wesley Lawson, Vivian "Lynn" Hall, & David Adams for the care given to Mr. Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from the Estes Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM with Pastor R.L. Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will also be livestreamed via Estes Funeral Home Facebook Page.
