Betty was born January 31, 1932, in Fort Worth to Samuel and Lela Baker. She was a 1949 graduate of Technical High School in Fort Worth and was always proud of being named "Who's Who in Physical Ed" her senior year. She married the love of her life, James A. Heaslet, on June 8, 1949, in Weatherford.
They moved to Weatherford in 1965 and lived there until 10 years ago when they moved to Royse City.
Betty was active in the school activities of her children as well as their activities beyond school. She was a member of the Aztex Saddle Club of Azle and Whirl-A-Ways Square Dance Club. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's business, and she owned a ceramic shop for several years in Weatherford. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Weatherford.
She loved to travel in their RV, with their favorite destination being Ouray, Colorado.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of over 71 years, James A. Heaslet, their son, James M. Heaslet, her parents, and seven siblings.
Survivors include four daughters, Estha and husband Robert Shiflet of Weatherford, TX; Karen Hodson of Ft. Myers, FL; Cindy and husband Tod Wojciechowski of Ocala, FL; and Jane and husband Taffy Jones of Quinlan, TX; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Iris Memory Care of Rowlett for their loving-kindness and care during Betty's final few years.
