Obituary: Los Angeles Times, 3/27/2022Kathleen Mary McCabe Drissel was born December 1, 1953 in Pasadena, CA. She passed away December 14, 2021 from complications associated with ALS. Kathy was a thirty-six year resident of Seal Beach, CA.

Kathy was born to Marie Fox McCabe and Millard Francis McCabe. Raised in Torrance, CA, she attended North Torrance High School and studied secretarial skills at El Camino College. Kathy took a job at Northrop Corporation, however adventure called, and she joined the Foreign Service and took a posting at the US Embassy in New Zealand where she met her future husband, Don Drissel. She followed Don back to the South Bay, and they were married in 1980.

Kathy resumed work at Northrop and eventually retired in 2009 as executive assistant to a Sector President. She and Don never lost their passion for travel, and made many trips throughout the US, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Kathy is survived by her husband Don, her sister Debbie Musser (Dave), her brother John, two stepsons Trevor Drissel (Ann) and Rhett Drissel. She also leaves behind a nephew, niece and two step-grandsons.

Kathy's other passions included crossword puzzles - the really hard ones - in ink, Jeopardy, Words with Friends, PBS, NPR (loved The Car Guys) and associating with close friends. She regularly made donations to charitable causes, including the ALS Association, Golden West Chapter.

Kathy's ashes were interred at Green Hills Cemetery, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA in a private service.

Kathy will always be known as smart, virtuous, engaging, practical and quick witted. She was dearly loved by all.
