Ruth was born on October 15, 1918 to Emily Schoeder and Charles M. Mueller. Ruth worked at the Bear Brand Hosiery and later, during the war, at the Joliet Arsenal. She met her husband-to-be Glenn Robert Evans at the Old Olivet. They served for 45 years in 13 churches in Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan. She completed her college degree in 1970 at Olivet. She worked as a substitute teacher in Kankakee, Bradley, and Bourbonnais in grade school and middle school from 1963 through 1975. In 1986, Ruth and her husband retired. Glenn died in 1997.
Ruth is survived by her four children and their spouses, Marian & John Cahoy of Pine Island, FL., Martha & Stephen Franklin of Manteno, IL., Joy & Bill Evans of Saginaw, MI., Nan & Bob Evans of Grand Rapids, MI., grandchidlren, Elizabeth, David, Sara, Lisa, Matthew and Andrew, two great-granddaughters, Sklyer and Selene, great-grandson, Elijah and extended family Charlie, Cookie, Vinnie, Lulu, Cullie and Max.
