Russell was born on September 23, 1923 in Buckingham, IL. to Lillian Havener and Luther Cook. He married Marilyn Cardosi on May 28, 1955 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kankakee, IL. At one time, Russell owned the Cliff House. He was then in the family business of Cardosi Oil for 20 years and then in sales for Emme Auto Sales.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, one son, Russ Cook of Chicago, IL., one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Rick North of Bloomington, IL., two grandchildren, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Phyllis and Chuck Astle of Momence, IL., and Pauline Bouchard of Kankakee, IL.
He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Lonnie Bouchard.
