PRESTON BILLIE ?BUD? BAGBY

Bud was born on December 10, 1916 in Johnson County, Oklahoma to Billie Bagby and Dora Griffin. He passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in Yuma at the age of 90.

He moved to the Yuma area in 1936 and met Viola Temple. They were married in El Centro, California on March 15, 1939. They had two sons, Larry and Roy.

Bud served in the Army during World War II in Japan. Bud was a welder and
mechanic for the Yuma County Water Users Association before retiring in 1978. He and Viola spent many weekends and summer vacations driving through the desert when the wildflowers were in bloom. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, family members and friends. El Golfo de Santa Clara was a favorite place to go for many years.

Bud is survived by his brother, Jack (Valene) Holt, of Rialto, California; son, Larry (Cosette) Bagby, of Yuma; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, of 67 years, Viola; his son Roy Bagby; one grandchild; two sisters; and two brothers.

A graveside service will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 10 a.m.

Pallbearers will be family members, Larry Bagby, Jr., Preston W. Bagby, Charles Hansen, Martin Sandoval Sr. Martin Sandoval Jr., Dalton Bagby and Jeff Van Horn.
