Granddad was a very dear man - a carpenter all his life, he worked in a CCC Camp in Arizona in the mid 30s where he contracted tuberculosis. His recovery took a long time, which included a stay at a sanitorium in San Angelo, TX at the time.
Granddad was baptized in the Lord in the late 50s and was devoted to his faith.
One great memory that I have of him was when we were little, at Christmas time (late 60s) he would give me and my brothers $5 each to go toward new shoes...money that went straight to Mom so that she could take us to get them :)
