The oldest child of James Leslie Lockett, Sr., 1877-1952, and Hope Williams, 1882-1970. John had two brothers and three sisters.

It is interesting that John's grandfather, James Leslie Lockett's father, was Capt. William Archibald Lockett, MD 1838-1934, from Kentucky. He was a Civil War surgeon for the USA. He is buried next to his daughter Margaret in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, Humphrey County, Tennessee. Dr. Lockett moved his family to Saguache County, Colorado sometime after 1885, where he raised most of his eight children. He lived to be 96.

John married Muriel June Manning, 1904-1992, in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado on May 18, 1924. They had four children together. Muriel June was born in Denver and moved to Grand Junction when she was still in school.

No memorial has yet been found for John or Muriel, nor any record that gives a clue to where they were buried. They could be interred in California or in Colorado, or they may have been cremated as were some of their children.

When their memorials are located this "Burial Details Unknown" memorial will be deleted or corrected.
