Jamie S. Derstler, 38, of New Germantown died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 from injuries received in a traffic accident on Route 274 near New Germantown.

He was born June 25, 1964 in St. Joseph Hospital, Lancaster, to Vernon R. Derstler Sr. of Blain and the late Anna C. (Fletcher) Derstler.

He was a forklift operator at Exel Logistics, Mechanicsburg, and a former employee of New Standard Corp., Hellam; a 1982 graduate of Eastern High School; and a former member of Columbia Bible Church, Columbia.

In addition to his father, surviving are his wife of 16 years, Pamela Minnick-Derstler; two sons, Zachary S. and Deacon T., both at home; two brothers, Vernon R. Jr. of Manheim and Gary L. of Raleigh, N.C.; and a sister, Jodi L. Wright of York.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly S. Abel of Wrightsville.

Services were held Sept. 4 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with pastor John Semple officiating. Burial was in Blain Cemetery.
