Mr. James W. 'Tom' McCane, Age 91, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday December 23rd, 2021 at the Vanceburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vanceburg, Ky.

Tom as he was known by family and friends was born in Vanceburg, Kentucky July 31st, 1930 to the late Henry Scott and Ermal Josephine Kennedy McCane. Tom, in his earlier years worked for the Dominion Electric Company in Mansfield, Ohio also the Ohio Stove Company in Portsmouth, Ohio from there worked for the Browning manufacturing company in Maysville, Kentucky for over 20 years. Tom loved to play his fiddle for his family in which they would take part and join in with their guitars. Tom was a tinkerer always working on cars, appliances, or whatever needed to be worked on around the house. He was a member of the Clarksburg Christian Church. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean conflict. Most of all he loved his family and adored his grandchildren.

Tom's memories will be left to cherish by his six sons, Mark (Sherry) McCane, Greg (Claudia) McCane, Jeff (Michelle) McCane, Chris McCane all of Vanceburg, Ky., Keith McCane of Morehead, Ky., and Steve (Cindy) McCane of Sumter, South Carolina; sister, Markie Caseman- Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Anthony McCane, Autumn (Drew) Smith, Devin McCane, Eric Poynter, Dalton McCane, Zachary McCane, Kaleb McCane, and Sydney McCane; and 13 great-grandchildren- Drey, Kemp, Reece, Finn, Piper, Cruz, Kash, Ethan, Emely, Tegan, Korbyn, Jase, and Brantley.

Preceded in death beside his parents was his wife Minnie Pearl Moore McCane in 2018; two sons, Kevin McCane and Kyle McCane; sister- Naomi Walje; brothers, Jude McCane, Naman McCane, and Hank McCane.

Funeral services will be Tuesday December 28th, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Clarksburg Christian Church with Pastor Barry Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky. Visitation will be Tuesday December 28th, 2021 at the Clarksburg Christian Church from 11:00 am until time of services at the church.

Pallbearers for James W. 'Tom' McCane will be the grandchildren. Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg are caring for all arrangements for Tom McCane.
