Gerald Revis Foster, the son of Revis and Lola Foster, born on 01/03/1933 in Birmingham, AL; passed away on 09/06/21 at the age of 88. He is survived by more family and loved ones to attempt to list in this brief tribute to his life.
He enlisted in the military in his junior year of high school and was called to active duty while in senior year. He served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War from October 1951 to May 1953 but continued to be enlisted in the reserves. He worked for Proctor and Gamble and then the Post Office from 1958 to 1979. He will be most remembered for his service to the Lord at Webster Baptist Church and operating Foster Group Home, a group home for physically and mentally handicapped individuals, for over 50 years. He spent countless hours in the service of the Lord and spreading God's word to others.
He lived his life to the fullest to the very end. He participated in the Polk Senior Olympics for several years then began participating in weightlifting competitions in 2017; winning numerous medals and breaking several world records. His last competition was on 06/26/21.
Gerald's Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 10, 2021, at Webster Memorial Baptist Church. A family service will take place at 10 AM and service for his church family and friends will be held at 11 AM.
