ROCK – Ralph Alfred McKinney, 64, of Rock, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Roanoke, VA. Born August 10, 1947 at Covel, he was the son of the late Oliver Lee McKinney and Hessie Dell Sisk McKinney.
Mr. McKinney retired from the Mercer County Board of Education as a school bus driver and mechanic. He loved his grandkids and was compassionate and enjoyed helping other people.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Burnice Harris; and a special niece, Tonya Harris.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cynthia Woolwine McKinney; one son, Randolph McKinney and his companion Jennifer of Mooresville, NC; one daughter, Kayla Woods and her husband Michael of Princeton; three grandchildren, Katrina Rose McKinney of Mooresville, NC and Katelyn Woods and Miranda Woods both of Bluewell; three brothers, Sebert McKinney and his wife Frances of Princeton, Raynard McKinney of Kegley and Daniel McKinney and his wife Rhonda of Bluefield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastors Marvin McKinney and Margaret Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Woolwine, II, Chris Crites, Brandon Crites, Roger McMillion, Daniel McKinney and Frank Crites.
