Mrs. Betty "Carol" Michael Carlton, 81, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community. She was born on January 13, 1940 in Davidson County to the late Winfred Dalton Michael and Nelva Yates Michael. Carol was owner and operator of Sisters II Florist in Lexington for several years and was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Thomasville for over 25 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time at High Rock Lake, loved trips to the beach and mountains, and enjoyed fishing. On March 9, 1957 she married Kenneth Ray Carlton, who preceded her in death in 2001. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Michael and Margaret Burcham; and three brothers, Charles Michael, Wayne Michael, and Robert Michael.

Surviving are her two daughters, Debbie Fanary (Mike) of Thomasville, and Carolann Boling (Tim) of Reeds; one son, Keith Ray Carlton (Marie) of Thomasville; two sisters, Evelyn Wyatt (Johnny) of Mocksville, and Brenda Sharpe (Robert) of Linwood; one brother, Jimmie Michael of Lexington; six grandchildren, Kailee Woodward (Joe), Matt Fanary, Madison Wallace (Austin), Bradly Carlton (Mary), Brandy Carlton (Darren), and Jacob Boling; eight great-grandchildren; and several extended family members.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Calvary UCC with Rev. Kelly Barefoot officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
