She lived her life completely dedicated to her family. Her lifelong passions were teaching, reading and crocheting. She taught high school English and Latin in Fairfax County, VA and made a difference in many lives. She traveled the world and made many loving memories with her family. She lived most of her adult life in Virginia, living the last twenty years in Albany, New York with her son David, and Manassas, Virginia with her daughter Michelle. She was fulfilled being an involved, proud and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she always said that her cup runneth over.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Bethany Ann DePoy Paolino, son John Delmar DePoy, brother John D. Harris, beloved grandmother Emma Estella Jones Moore and her parents John and Irene Harris. She is survived by 3 children, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was loved and cherished by countless people including: Son David Moore DePoy and Linda Kasik DePoy of Albany, New York and grandchildren Emily, Amy and John; daughter Michelle DePoy Cresswell Atkinson and Timothy Atkinson of Manassas, Virginia and grandchildren Allison, Gavin, Ryan, Zachary and Hannah; Son Darren Lee DePoy and Jennifer DePoy of College Station, Texas and grandchildren Daniel, David and Benjamin; Bethany's daughter Laura Bethany Ann Paolino Carrigan and Nathaniel Carrigan of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and great grandchildren Nathaniel, Ada, Molly, Isobel, Charlotte, Isaac and Ephraim; Bethany's son Andrew John Harris Paolino of Front Royal, Virginia, and great grandchildren Jada, Jaxon and Rylee; sister in law Patricia DePoy Holmes, daughter in law Tirza DelAmo DePoy; son in law David Cresswell; loving nieces Kelly Harris South, Jody Harris, Kirsten (Holly) Harris Holladay, Shira (Christine) Sheaks, Denise Sheaks, and Anna Brosco; many great-nieces and nephews; and innumerable friends and extended family members.
Her family was her everything, and she was everything to her family. We will miss her dearly. Her final resting place will be Mount Zion Cemetery, Winchester, Indiana at a future date.
