LACONIA — Irene Lillian (Leavitt) Blais, 91, of 406 Court Street, formerly of 23 Hillcrest Drive, died on Tuesday morning, November 29, 2005 at St. Francis Healthcare Center after a brief illness.
Irene was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Dupont) Leavitt. She was born in Laconia on October 9, 1914 where she was raised and schooled. She lived in New Ipswich for many years before moving back to Laconia in 1977.
Irene was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was also a member of the Women's Club in New Ipswich.
Irene was predeceased by her husband, J. Lionel Blais in 1989; by a son, Jason R. Blais in 1999; by a grandson, Stephen Blais; and by a sister, Florence Herbert.
Irene is survived by one son; and by two sisters. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 2, 2005 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church will celebrate the mass. There are no visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
