Jane Duchesne Shawcross, age 88, of Peoria, AZ passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021 with her family at her side. Jane was born in Hartford, CT on November 13, 1933 to the late Raymond and Florence Duchesne. Following graduation from Manchester High School in 1951, she began work at the Connecticut National Bank. After raising her family, she rejoined the workforce, spending 21 years as a personnel manager at Cox Cable Television. Throughout the organization, Jane was respected and admired for her professionalism and friendship.

In 1955 she met the love of her life, George H. Shawcross of Providence, RI at the Crystal Lake Ballroom in Ellington, CT. They were married on April 27, 1957 and shared 64 wonderful years of marriage and raised two sons, Michael and Alan, in Coventry, CT. In 2004, Jane and George moved to Peoria, AZ where they enjoyed extended trips exploring the west.

Jane was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and well-known among friends and family for her sparkling wit and sense of humor. She loved gardening, animals, and playing rummy with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved researching family history and enjoyed following college sports, the Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Cardinals. Most of all, she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Recently she enjoyed receiving photos and videos on her electronic picture frame from all the children. Words cannot convey the affection shared by her grandchildren for her.

Jane was predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn Ough, Marshall and Allen Duchesne. She is survived by her loving husband George and sons Michael and his wife Marina of Williamsburg, VA and Alan and his wife Julie of Phoenix, AZ. The joys of her life were her grandchildren: Brent and his wife Julie Shawcross, Dr. Callan and her husband Dr. Joseph Driver, Tyler Shawcross and his fiancé Caitlin Baird, Tim and his wife Matti Shawcross, Brooke Shawcross and Evan and his wife Kylie Shawcross and her beloved great grandchildren: Cora Jane and Maeve Driver, Killian, Anne and Rafe Shawcross and numerous nieces, nephews and family.

Jane will be buried in the East Cemetery in Manchester, CT in early 2022.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org, are welcomed.
