Curtis H. Bell, 87, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 in Lincoln. Curtis was born in Lincoln on November 4, 1927, the son of Curtis and Helena (Holm) Bell. He grew up in Lincoln and worked at the Goodyear plant in Quality Control for 32 years. Curtis married Marilyn Barney on April 2, 1950, they just celebrated their 65th anniversary.

After retiring, Curtis and Marilyn built their house on Table Rock Lake near Blue Eye, Mo. where they lived for 25 years. They then moved to Shell Knob, Mo. to be closer to dear friends from their bridge clubs and church. Grandkids spent many summers at the lake with Grandpa and Grandma.

Curtis was an avid bridge player owning bridge clubs in the Shell Knob area and becoming a life master himself with Marilyn. He was a member of the Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob where he enjoyed fellowship, prayer, and his mens group at Icy Maes. Curtis took special pride in knowing everyones name at their church and was a dear friend to all.

Throughout his life, Curtis enjoyed taking motorcycle trips and riding in motorcycle trials completion, boating, water skiing, and fishing. His true passion and hobby was playing duplicate bridge with his many loved partners. Curtis enjoyed helping his two sons and their families with many home improvements projects over the years and was a true "Jack of all trades." In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and working in his tool shop building "whatever needed built." Curtis truly loved being a grandpa, in his grandkids own words, "He is the best grandpa in the world."

Curtis is survived by his wife Marilyn of Shell Knob; two sons, Gary Bell and Michael Bell and his wife Robin all of Lincoln; daughter, Lesa Wharton of Oviedo, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Lorri Bell of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Bell, Lucas Bell and Allison Bell.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Bryan Michael Bell; and sister, Dona Stiverson.

In honoring his wishes to be cremated, there will be no viewing or visitation. Lincoln Family Funeral Care in Lincoln is handling arrangements.
