Odette graduated from Avon High School in 1956. She attended music classes at Western Illinois University and later got her teaching certificate from Northeast Missouri State University. She married Jerry A. Bultemeier on December 19, 1959.
Odette is survived by her sons, Craig A. Bultemeier of Schaumburg and James S. Bultemeier (Lori) of Avon; her grandchildren Brendan Bultemeier, Alexandra Bultemeier, and Skye Bultemeier.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her brother Jim Manuel (Peg), and her sister Mary Allen (Phil).
Odette worked for a short time at the antenna factory in Avon before starting her career as a teacher. She taught 4th and 5th grades at Valley Grade School (London Mills) for 40+ years and continued to teach as a substitute teacher after retirement. Odette was a member of the United Methodist Church in Avon, where she participated in the choir, was a member of the Women's Club, participated in the March of Dimes walk, and was a judge for the annual Fat Steer Show.
Visitation will be held at Wise Funeral Home in Avon on December 18, 2021, at 10:00 am with the Funeral following at 11:00 am. Online condolence may be made at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dementia Society of America or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon is in charge of arrangements.
