Johnnie "Joe" Baggott, 72, went to be with our Lord on December 11, 2021 in Ocala, Florida while at his happy place, the racetrack. Joe was born on May 25, 1949 in Peoria, Illinois to parents Laverne and Dorothy (Sprouse) Baggott. He married his best friend, Pattie Baggott, on May 25, 1985. Joe was a member of the Teamsters Union #627 and was the owner/operator of Joe Baggott Trucking, Inc. He received his Associates in Christian Studies in 2012. He was a Chaplain for Racers for Christ, officiating many weddings and funerals. Joe was a twenty year member of the American Motorcycle Association, as well as an AMA District 17 member, and was formerly a member of the Pekin Motorcycle Club. Joe enjoyed racing flat track motorcycles and attending American Flat Track national events, often sharing his love of Jesus at chapel services prior to the races and performing the invocation and National Anthem at several events. Joe also enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He was a lead singer and guitarist for Sundown Collection and Wind, as well as praise and worship with the Gloryland Band. He never knew a stranger and always had a hug and peppermint ready for anyone. Joe was a devoted, loving father to Kim Jo Sank (Josh), Robyn Baggott, Josh Baggott and Jesse Jo Baggott. He was a treasured Papa to Garyn Hunter, Nick Karl, McKenna Baggott and Tinley Jo Baggott, as well as to his three great granddaughters, Lyric Hunter, Emersyn and Madilyn Karl. He was a beloved brother to Dan Baggott (Joyce) and Jim Earl Baggott. He was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Billie Sue Baggott and Mary LaVaughn Baggott. Funeral services for Joe will be held December 18th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with the burial immediately following at Parkview Cemetery.
