Mike Saner, 67, of Akron, Indiana passed surrounded by his family at 1:10 am, Monday, December 13, 2021 at his residence.
Mike was born on May 6, 1954 in Scottsburg, Indiana and his parents were Roy Lee and Marilyn Ann (Lockridge) Saner. He was married on Feb. 14, 1981 in the Akron Church of God to Mary K. Malott, she survives.
He was a 1972 graduate of Akron High School. He had worked for Dalton Foundry, Bomarko Inc., and LSC Communications. He owned his own welding shop for a short time as well as having a food trailer. He was known to be a regular face at the Akron Mini Mart. He loved to research many topics on the internet. Mike also enjoyed coin collecting.
He is survived by his wife Mary Saner of Akron; children David and wife Michelle Saner of Franklin and Rachael Hamilton and fiancé James Bloodworth of Palmetto, Florida; grandchildren Jeremy Hamilton, Josh Saner, and Samantha Hamilton; great grandchildren Jonah and Jance; siblings Jim and wife Jan Saner of Akron, Melanie and husband Ray Hollett of Warsaw, Marilee and husband Terrence Wires of Cromwell, Mark Saner of Akron, and Brenda Smith of Kokomo; Several Nieces and Nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister Louis Yamasaki and Norma Robinson.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana with Pastor Kathy Nelson and Brother Jim Saner officiating.
The interment will take place following the service in the Athens Cemetery, Athens, Indiana.
Visitation hours will be held from 10 am to 12 noon, Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Kindred Hospice or in the spirit of how Mike helped others, pay it forward to people in need during this holiday season.
