LARGO - A neighbor delivering food on a windy, chilly morning Wednesday discovered the bodies of her longtime friends in their mobile home.

Largo police have tentatively ruled the deaths of Winona "Nona" Krueger, 77, as murder and of her husband Lloyd V., also 77, as suicide.

... Mrs. Krueger had been ill for a long time and she was rarely seen outside their mobile home at Lot 13F, Pointe West Mobile Home Park, 12661 Seminole Blvd., neighbors said.

Mrs. Krueger had been depressed for about two years, especially the last month, said Mrs. Webber, who has been the Kruegers' friend for about 45 years. Mr. Krueger was principal of the school where Mrs. Webber taught in New Jersey, and Mrs. Krueger also was a teacher.

MR. KRUEGER was active in the park. He said the prayer before the monthly meetings of the residents' recreation association and lined up residents to raise and lower the flag daily, taking more than his share of turns, neighbors said.

Mr. Krueger, described as "very religious," and his wife were members of Pasadena Community Church in St. Petersburg, Mrs. Webber said.

Mr. Krueger also kept the park library in order, meticulously arranging the books and discarding old magazines when new ones came in, a neighbor said.

The Kruegers moved to Pointe West five or six years ago, neighbors said. They have two sons who live in the north. …
